About the Recipe
Welcome to my home, I am going to show you how to make a family staple we here in the south . We love our spices from, Cayenne Pepper to tasteful bell and sweet pepers. Everything in teh recipe can be changed out for something that suites you better. This is know as a southern Jumbalaya
or red beans and rice.
Ingredients
1 package (13.5 ounces) Johnsonville Andouille Sausage diced
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 stalks celery diced
1 medium onion, diced
1 medium green pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic,
minced
½ cup water
2 bay leaves
¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cans (16 ounces each) light erd kidney beans
box of White or Brown rice (Optional)
Preparation
Step 1
In a skillet, brown sausage in oil for 3-4 minutes
Step 2
Add celery, onion, green pepper and garlic . Continue to cook until vegetables are tender
Step 3
Add water, bay leaves, caayenne pepper and beans
Step 4
Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Remove leaves. Serve over hot rice
